Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi will miss Belgium’s upcoming friendlies due to a foot injury.
Roberto Martinez’s side are set to face Mexico on Friday evening before taking on Japan next Tuesday.
But Batshuayi will play no part in either match as he was carrying an injury when he linked up with the Belgium squad earlier this week.
Batshuayi has now returned to Chelsea where he will be assessed by the club’s medical staff.
‘When Michy arrived he was in pain,’ Martinez told RTBF.
‘He has not trained since the squad met.
‘He is out both games and has already returned to Chelsea.’
Batshuayi has made 12 appearances in all competitions for Antonio Conte’s side this season and has scored seven goals.
