Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck is expected to be fit for Saturday’s north London derby but Olivier Giroud remains doubtful.

The former Manchester United striker has missed the last month after sustaining a hamstring injury in Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat to Watford in October.

Welbeck had started six of Arsenal’s previous eight matches before the injury and could well be recalled if Olivier Giroud misses out.

The Frenchman picked up a thigh injury in France’s 2-0 win against Wales on Friday after getting his name on the goal sheet.

With Giroud rated as doubtful, Alexandre Lacazette is set to start.

The 26-year-old’s scored six goals in 12 appearances since joining the Gunners in a club record deal but has been dropped for clashes against Manchester City and Liverpool.

Arsenal trail their north London rivals by four points going into the game at the Emirates.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side were unbeaten against the Gunners last season, winning at White Hart Lane and drawing at the Emirates.
