Alexandre Lacazette and Harry Kane are ‘totally different’ strikers but share a desperation to score, according to Ian Wright.

The Arsenal and Tottenham stars will come head-to-head in Saturday’s north London derby as in-form Spurs make the short trip to the Emirates to face Arsene Wenger’s Gunners.

Both Lacazette, who signed for Arsenal from Lyon in the summer, and England international Kane have enjoyed productive starts to the 2017-18 campaign.

France international Lacazette has scored six goals in 11 Premier League appearances while Kane, who won the Golden Boot award last term, is already well into double figures.

‘I rate Harry Kane very highly. He seems one of the forwards now in the current day who is literally a goal monster,’ former Arsenal and England striker Wright told the Premier League official website.

‘He wants to score every single attempt he has on goal. When you try to compare his goalscoring rate and wonder how many goals he will end up with… if he stays in the Premier League I believe he will run Alan Shearer’s 260 record very close.

‘Kane and Lacazette are two totally different goalscorers but in common they both are just desperate to score and hit the target regularly.

‘If you’ve got that as a striker then you’ll score lots of goals. They are different types in the way they move and the way they play but they’re both fantastic.’

Despite costing Arsenal a club-record £53million, Lacazette has not always started under Wenger and Wright feels now is the time to let him loose.

‘I think he’s a fantastic signing,’ Wright continued. ‘I’d play him continuously, he would start under me, he takes half-chances, he finishes very well with both feet. Now he’s ready to be let loose.’
