The FC Cologne squad would have been forced to watch Arsenal’s win against Tottenham in preparation for Thursday’s Europa League clash but perhaps they would be forgiven for skipping through the highlights.

Arsene Wenger’s men put in their best performance in years during Saturday’s 2-0 win in the north London derby and it was their front three of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette that impressed most.

The Gunners can seal top spot with a win in Germany on Thursday and they’ll fancy their chances against a Koln side that have just three points from four matches thus far.

The Bundesliga side may not have the resources that Arsenal have but they’re clearly remaining chipper and poked fun at the Gunners’ wealth of talent on Twitter on Tuesday.

The Germans asked supporters whether Wenger should rest Sanchez and Ozil for the game on Thursday and, well…it explains itself.

Wenger is likely to rest the pair in preparation for Sunday’s clash against Burnley at Turf Moor.

The Gunners need a win in Lancashire to make the most of their morale-boosting victory against Spurs and the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Laurent Koscielny and Petr Cech are all likely to sit out on Thursday.
