Tiemoue Bakayoko was hooked at half-time after a disappointing 45 minutes against West Ham United but sympathy was in short supply from Chelsea fans.

The Frenchman arrived at Stamford Bridge in a £40million deal from Monaco last summer as a direct replacement for Nemanja Matic.

Antonio Conte was overruled by the board in their decision to let Matic sign for Manchester United and the Serbian’s impressive start at Old Trafford has heaped even more pressure on Bakayoko.

The 23-year-old was identified by former technical director Michael Emenalo, who has since joined Monaco.

And Chelsea fans were begging the Ligue 1 champions to re-sign Bakayoko after his shocking display against the Hammers, where he was replaced at half-time when Chelsea were 1-0 down.
