Manchester United and Arsenal are set to battle it out for the signing of £20m-rated Hoffenheim midfielde Nadiem Amiri, according to reports.

The 21-year-old is highly-rated in Germany and his impressive start to the Bundesliga season has caught the eye of a number of top clubs across Europe.

Amiri has scored four goals in 19 appearances for Hoffenheim this season and the German club are realistic about their chances of keeping him.

The midfielder has 18 months left on his current deal and Hoffenheim know they could get nearer their valuation of £20m if they let him go next month.

According to the Sun, Arsenal and United are both interested in the midfielder and are likely to bid for him next month, according to the Sun.

Jose Mourinho is keen on strengthening in midfield, especially given the uncertainty over Maraoune Fellaini’s future at the club.

The Belgian is out of contract at the end of the season and rejected the club’s last contract offer.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are negotaiting new deals with Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey who are all out of contract at the end of the current campaign.
