Rio Ferdinand has told Liverpool and Arsenal fans to ‘shut up’ and stay away from social media after Burnley gatecrashed the Premier League’s top four following last night’s late win over Stoke.

An 89th minute Ashley Barnes goal handed Sean Dyche’s side their sixth win in their last eight games and saw the Clarets leapfrog some of the top flight’s more illustrious clubs.

Dyche attempted to downplay Burnley’s achievement, saying: ‘We’re not the real deal, we’re a side that are improving but the margins are tight in all of our performances.

‘We’re certainly getting on the right side of them.’

Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool all have the opportunity to overtake Burnley this evening but Ferdinand has advised supporters of those clubs to keep a low profile while they sit below a club who have one of the smallest budgets in the division.

‘I just woke up. Respect to Sean Dyche. His Burnley team are sitting fourth in the Premier League,’ Ferdinand said in a video posted on his Twitter account.

‘His team are producing consistent results week in week out. Those boys needs some serious saluting, the team, the staff the players, everything.

‘But Arsenal fans, Liverpool fans, Spurs fans I suggest you come off social media. I don’t want to see any of you there chatting any breeze, don’t talk to me.

‘Don’t come with any stupid talk to me. You are below Burnley, shut up and sit in your place.’
