Manchester United will join the battle to sign Juventus left-back Alex Sandro during the January transfer window, according to reports.

Sandro has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League for some time, with Chelsea coming close to a deal last summer.

The player is understood to be desperate for a move to the Premier League.

After a switch failed to transpire last summer, his form has dipped and Juventus are reportedly now ready to sell for somewhere in the region of £60million.

Jose Mourinho wants to resolve Manchester United’s problems at left-back with the club currently having more quantity than quality.

Ashley Young has emerged as the preferred choice this season but there is also Luke Shaw, Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo who could take up the role. Mourinho doesn’t view any of them as the long-term future.
