Manchester United are reportedly ready to offer Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Juventus in a bid to land Alex Sandro.

Alex Sandro, 26, looked set to complete a move to Chelsea in the summer transfer window, but Juve were determined to keep hold of the left-back and rejected a £60million offer from the Blues.

It’s understood Antonio Conte remains interested in Alex Sandro, though, and will come up against stiff competition from Jose Mourinho to sign the Brazil international in the new year.

The Sun suggest United misfit Mkhitaryan will be offered to Juve in order to get a deal over the line for Alex Sandro in the January transfer window.

While Mkhitaryan had a barnstorming start to the season, managing five Premier League assists in August, the Armenian has since dropped down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri is particularly keen on both Mkhitaryan and Daley Blind – and either player could be used as a makeweight by United.

Barcelona are also believed to be expressing a strong interest in Blind.

With Mkhitaryan seemingly running out of chances at United, Mourinho hinted that the midfielder could face Bristol City in the Carabao Cup.

‘It’s possible he is involved,’ he said ahead of United’s trip to Ashton Gate.

‘I’m making a few changes for the match but not many.

‘Not many because Bristol is one of the best teams in the Championship.

‘And for me, now, the Championship is not what it was five or ten years ago.

‘There are now high quality teams with lots of players who could easily be playing in the Premier League so we need to take the game really seriously.’
