Fernando Torres has said he hopes Antoine Griezmann remains at Atletico Madrid amid speculation linking the forward with a move elsewhere.

Manchester United are known admirers of the France international, with the striker coming close to a move to Old Trafford in the summer.

Meanwhile Atletico Madrid have reported Barcelona to FIFA over an alleged approach for the 26-year-old.

With Atletico already out of this season’s Champions League, there’s been some speculation that Griezmann could move in January. But his team-mate Torres is hopeful he will stay in the Spanish capital.

‘Griezmann is still with us and we have to enjoy him, Atletico can sign and keep hold of the best players,’ the former Liverpool and Chelsea player told Radio MARCA.

‘I would love it if Griezmann wants to stay at Atletico.’

He continued: ‘You have to ask him [if he wants to stay], but when he decides to stay, it will be because he wants to.’

Griezmann has a contract until 2022 at the Wanda Metropolitano, however his manager Diego Simeone recently stated that if the player wished to leave he wouldn’t stand in his way.
