Jose Mourinho entered Bristol City’s dressing room after Manchester United’s 2-1 defeat to the Championship club in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening.

United were dumped out of the competition following Korey Smith’s goal in the 93rd minute, while Bristol will go on to play Manchester City in the semi-finals.

Mourinho sparked a bust-up with Manchester City earlier this month after approaching their dressing room following United’s 2-1 defeat in the derby at Old Trafford.

And Mourinho, who claimed that Bristol City got ‘lucky’ with their win, made another approach to the opposition dressing room after the loss at Ashton Gate, although this time he had some words of praise for Lee Johnson’s players.

‘This is something you have not seen before and of course it was just fun to be part of this,’ Bristol City defender Hordur Magnusson told Fotbolti.

‘Mourinho came into the dressing room and praised us for the performance and wished us good luck.

‘So what he said in interviews after the game [about Bristol being lucky to win] was I think more his character as a manager rather than the man himself.’
