Danny Welbeck and Aaron Ramsey could join the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere in leaving Arsenal in the next six months.

The pair have 18 months to run on their existing deals at the club – a length that the Gunners would normally be comfortable with.

However, the club’s decision to keep Ozil and Sanchez at the club against their wishes as they enter the final 12 months of their deals has backfired. So much so that senior members of Wenger’s squad have told the Frenchman to sell Sanchez to Manchester City so that the club can focus on the remainder of the season.

The Gunners are keen on keeping Ramsey and Welbeck but their focus is on keeping the players with just six months left on their deals and the pair are therefore not the club’s priority.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain felt the club did little to keep him and were too focused on new deals for Sanchez and Ozil when he was in the same boat as the star duo. The England international was sold to Liverpool for £40m at the end of August.

And the same could happen with Welbeck and Ramsey, who will be considering their futures at the end of the season.

The Gunners are resigned to losing Sanchez to Manchester City and could settle for a fee of close to £30m this month to finally grant him his wish of moving to the Etihad.

Wenger believes there’s still a glimmer of hope in keeping Ozil but the German is wanted by Manchester United and is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with overseas clubs.
