Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck battling to be fit for Arsenal’s clash with Swansea

Aaron Ramsey and Danny Welbeck are doubts for Arsenal's Premier League match against Swansea City on Monday.

Club captain Mikel Arteta and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain remain sidelined, while Mathieu Debuchy is also unavailable for the visit of Garry Monk's side.

Speaking to Arsenal Player on Thursday, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger revealed Ramsey, who scored against Hull City this week, has not trained since picking up a knock in that game but has a chance to be fit in time for Monday.

Welbeck, meanwhile, is still struggling with a knee injury that forced him to miss the clash with the Tigers.

"Ramsey took a big kick, he is getting slowly better," Wenger said.

"Welbeck is doing better but he is still not in training, he has missed now more than a week. There is no major damage but we have to see how it progresses over the next two or three days.

"Debuchy is still out, he's progressing but not available. Chamberlain is not available, Arteta will be short so it will basically be a similar squad [to the one that faced Hull]."
