Freddie Ljungberg to take up coaching role with Arsenal, reveals Arsene Wenger

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Freddie Ljungberg is returning to Arsenal as a coach.

The Swede spent nine years at Arsenal from 1998 to 2007, making over 300 appearances, and was part of the famous Invincibles side which went an entire Premier League season unbeaten.

He is currently studying for his coaching A licence and will take up a role with the north London club to work with the Under-15 team as part of his development.

"He [Ljungberg] wants to make his licence," said Wenger.

"They have to take care of a youth team and we are happy to give him a chance to do his license."

Ljungberg follows fellow Invincible Thierry Henry in taking up a coaching role with the Gunners.

Henry has been working with the club's Under-18 and Under-19 teams as he also works towards gaining his A licence.
