Mourinho: Chelsea have no chance of winning the Premier League

Jose Mourinho has laughed off claims his Chelsea side could still win the Premier League after they beat Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield.

The result leaves the Blues in second place, two points behind the table-topping Reds, with two games to go in the season.

But the Portuguese boss doesn’t think they stand a chance, even though he thought the match on Merseyside, at one point, would decide who won the league.

“We have no chance [of winning the Premier League],” Mourinho said. “We were waiting for this match to be the title [deciding] match, but for some reason it didn’t become that match.”

And while his side were criticised once more for ‘parking the bus’ against tough opponents, the 51-year-old was delighted with his side’s display against Liverpool.

“The best team won,” he added. “The team who deserved it more won. It’s simple, in my opinion.

“The team played brilliantly. Every player was magnificent. There were no mistakes. I think it was a fantastic performance from my players."
