Ahead of the Super Cup final against Real Madrid, Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he would be interested in bringing Gareth Bale to Manchester United if he becomes available.

The press have claimed that Bale is surplus to requirements at Real as they look to sign wantaway Kylian Mbappe from Monaco. Mourinho has claimed if Bale becomes available then he will be waiting for him.

If he’s playing, it’s because he’s in the coach’s plans and club’s plans and because he has that motivation to continue at Real Madrid. I haven’t even thought of the possibility of signing him.

If he’s not in the club’s plans and what you are writing is true, the arrival of another player, then Gareth would be on his way out of Real Madrid,

I would try to be waiting for him on the other side and be fighting with the other coaches who would like to have him on their team.

If he plays it would be the best confirmation that he is wanted by the team.

Zinedine Zidane was asked whether he would be prepared to allow Bale to leave but on three separate occasions he failed to categorically state that the Welshman would be staying.

Mourinho and Bale looked very friendly in the US when United beat Real Madrid during the pre-season.
