West Ham boss Slaven Bilic admitted to being worried by his side's form after their winless start to the Premier League season continued at Newcastle.

The Hammers were comfortably beaten 3-0 at St James' Park to leave them without any points after three games.

They have had to play three successive away games as the London Stadium hosted athletics' World Championships.

"Newcastle were better in every aspect of the game. They had simply more power, more determination," said Bilic.

"I am worried. I'm not panicking. It's very early."

This latest defeat comes after the Hammers' opening-day loss at Manchester United and a narrow 3-2 reverse at Southampton, in which they came from 2-0 down to level before conceding a late penalty.

"After the game against Southampton, we lost the game, we still had zero points but I was still very, very positive with the way we played, with the way we reacted after we were left with 10 men," added Bilic.

"This is different, this is worrying, but like for every club, it has its ups and downs and nobody will take us out of this situation but ourselves.

"Look, I am the manager, it's my job to be confident and to believe in good and bad times. Even when the times are bad, then you see the importance of the job more than in the good times. I haven't changed in that."

West Ham's next league game is at London Stadium, against Huddersfield, who drew 0-0 at home with Southampton on Saturday to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

Bilic has spent a reported £42m on players this summer, bringing in goalkeeper Joe Hart, defender Pablo Zabaleta, midfielder Marco Arnautovic and striker Javier Hernandez.

It's gone from bad to worse. I know Bilic was talking about the positives after the Southampton game but losing against Newcastle, another team in big trouble themselves, there are a lot of question marks.

They look like they are all over the place. They have players completely out of form. There isn't a team. They are not gelling together as a group.

You wonder now is it going to be time to change the manager? It's only three or four matches in the season. It seems so early in the season.

But he needs to have a look at himself. Is he up for the job? He didn't look up for the job against Newcastle. He looks like broken man.

    It doesn't help that the idiot owners have moved us to a ground we don't own, is not a football stadium, and has been unavailable for the first three matches of the season. Blame Bilic all you like, but that clearly hasn't helped.

    No good blaming the Manager, we all know he is not up to managing. Its the management, Sullivan and Gold who are to blame, thy were useless owning Birmingham . They should never purchased West Ham, they should have stayed in the porn game. They reckon they had an offer of £650 million from Red Bull. Crap they are too greedy not to have taken it.

    a team thats just too old and tired for the premeirship, and a notoriously awful goalie like a cherry on a cake. Zabaletta, fonte and heart at the back?Seriously, thats why the goals are going in. Bilic is treading water waiting until his best starting 11 are all fit and able to play together, but football doesnt work like that, you need options and he just doesnt have the nous to create options.

    Bilic is struggling and something has to change whether this is him being replaced or a change in his support staff. What we should never forget is the effect the move to a rental home has had on the culture and passion held in the hearts of those representing the club. The owners have turned WHU in to a USA style franchise that could now move anywhere. Our home, heart and passion is, I fear, gone

    The fact that City were happy to let Hart and Zabaletta go says it all. However the lack of commitment and effort from the whole team ( Collins and Antonio excepted ) is the most worrying factor. Hernandez is a good signing but not a lone striker. West Ham overpay their players and we now suffer the consequencies.

    Zabaleta was a free transfer, Hart is on loan. We have signed 2 players and spent circa £16 million net. And we are bottom of the league.

    @ 40.

    The problem was not leaving Upton.
    Last year they kept saying WH players "haven't got used to the London Stadium & the position of the goals", because the pitch & the the surrounds is all new to them.
    What a load of codswallop.
    How come the away teams who came to the London Stadium quickly got their bearings right & found the direction towards the WH goal & scored?

    A bit premature considering they've had 3 away games, including against the champions elect. Judge him after they've had a few home games. The showing against Newcastle was worrying but all teams have very poor away days that are not reflective of their overall season.

    I agree he looked a broken man in that post-match interview. I was thinking if I was the club owner I would start looking for a new manager and I have no axe to grind.

    Bilic looks out of his depth. West Ham always overrun in midfield and shaky at the back. In desperate need of two starting CMs and another CB to partner Reid. Too many average/inconsistent players for a club with high ambitions.

    Javier Hernandez was a good buy and why the hell we sold him from Man U I'll never know but Hart is someone who advertises shampoo and is a part time goalie who should also be advertising anchor butter. If Bilic is there at the end of the season on this evidence then I'll be very surprised.

    I had hoped Bilic would do well for us and he is no doubt a genuine bloke...but he needs to be more tactically aware and also drop Noble who despite being a loyal servant should no longer be in the starting 11...however my anger is more at the owners who made so many false promises and do not seem willing to spend money on real quality...the manager will of course be the scapegoat for this

    One spectacular season when WHU overachieved (and increased expectations).
    Second season, they performed about as you would expect.
    Poor start to third season, could be a relegation struggle on their hands. But isn't this just West Ham?

    Blame the manager, sack him, get someone else in - but the cycle will continue, it's just where West Ham are as a club.

    I mean bloody hell Slaven, I'm panicking about your form and I'm not even a West Ham fan. Don't want to take away from a brilliant Newcastle performance but if that side can put 3 past you, you've got some serious issues most likely on AND off the pitch. I feel for Bilic but it doesn't look good for him if his players are gonna put such little heart and effort into each game. (NUFC fan)

    The turnover of players at West Ham is ridiculous.There is no continuity and new players don't often fit in straight away..It an take weeks to get new players settled Better to develop the existing players and youth.Takes longer and is hard work but pays off in the long run.Feel the two Davids don't see it that way
