Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane has described Tottenham's Harry Kane as a "complete player" before the sides meet in the Champions League on Tuesday.

But Zidane would not be drawn on the possibility of the Spanish champions trying to sign the 24-year-old striker.

The England international has scored 43 goals in 38 games for club and country in 2017.

"He's good at everything and he's always thinking about the goal in everything he does," Zidane, 45, said.

"I don't know what will happen in the future. But in the present, what he is doing has made him a very important player, a key player.

"He is a complete player. He did not seem to be one [at first], but in the end, he is."

Kane has scored five goals in Tottenham's opening two Champions League games against Borussia Dortmund and Apoel Nicosia, helping Mauricio Pochettino's side move level with Group H leaders Madrid on six points before Tuesday's game (19:45 BST).

After failing to score in August, he has since netted 15 goals in his last 11 games.

Last week Kane was also named on the 30-man shortlist for the 2017 Ballon d'Or award given to the world's best player.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola described Spurs as the "Harry Kane team" earlier this month, with Pochettino calling the comments "very disrespectful" and "sad".

"We know he is a very good player and things are going well for him but Tottenham is not just Kane - they are a very good team and we will prepare for the game very well," added Zidane, who won the 1998 Ballon d'Or after helping France lift the World Cup that year.

"We are playing against a very good team and that is good for us - it encourages us to play a good match."

    Not only is he bordering on world class he also doesn't seem to be driven by money, which is rare to see these days.

    I don't support Spurs, but I would like to see Kane win something with them, just because he seems like a decent bloke.

    Kane is the main man but Eriksen has probably been the best player for Spurs this season, for both club and country.

    unlike prima donnas we see nowadays with crazy hair style, weird hair coloring & childish emoji branding, Kane is role model for any young footballer or any professional who demonstrates success thru' hard work, strong determination & never give up attitude.

    Spurs are really lucky to have coach like Mauricio and great striker & professional like Kane together which make them more admirable.

    Going to Real would be the worst thing for Kane & England. For as long as Ronaldo is there he will always be the number one striker. Why do you think Morata left? England don't need another quality player being a bench warmer at club level and losing his sharpness and I'm sure Harry won't want to go and lose match time. Surely better to earn less and play every week than earn more and not play.

    So Zidane thinks Kane is a good player. Their are a lot of sensible comments on here from fans of other clubs agreeing. However you will always get the silly fans with stupid comments who do not agree unless Kane wins something. These are the same people who said Kane was a one season, oh sorry, two, oh sorry, three, oh sorry, four season wonder. The lad is a great player and sportsman end of.

    Kane's got it all. Even if he wins nothing with spurs this year, he'll still be world class. This debate about having to win stuff with your team is rubbish. If winning the champions league was the test of a great player, djimi traore would be held in higher regard than maradona

    I don't care if anyone else doesn't rate him, he keeps scoring and driving the team forwards and upwards. Seems like jealousy with other premiership teams over paid imports

    If Kane were Spanish or German the British football fan wouldn't have even started a debate about whether he was/is "world class".

    He is everything that is good about English football and I suggest that, even those who are not Spurs fans (includes myself) should recognise what a terrific advert for the home game Kane is.

    Kane is happy at Spurs and Levy will not be selling him or any other players unless Poch says it's ok to ( as with Walker).

    Previously it was he's a 1 / 2 /3 season wonder, then it was "he's never performed for England, now it's he/spurs have not won anything, what will it be when we have put that issue aside as we surely will soon?

    As a United fan .... Kane is quality, would walk into any Premiership team.

    5.Tarot- I am not a Spurs fan either but I agree, nice bloke and could well turn out to be a world class player. Not quite there yet but the best English forward since Michael Owen.
