Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger has admitted his interest in bringing Real Sociedad winger to Emirates Stadium when the transfer window opens.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says the Gunners have been watching the progress of Real Sociedad winger Antoine Griezmann, who has lit up La Liga with a series of sublime goalscoring performances this season.

The Frenchman has scored 15 times and provided three assists in his 24 league appearances this term, and has been instrumental in the Anoeta side once again competing for a UEFA Champions League qualification place.

Such performances have naturally caught the eye of a great many sides across Europe, and Arsenal’s manager made his interest very clear in an interview with Telefoot, translated by the Daily Star.

“Yes, we follow him in great detail,” said Wenger.

“That should not come as a surprise because he attracts other clubs as well.

“But we follow him, he is a known commodity.”

Griezmann has just been called up to the senior French squad to face the Netherlands in a friendly this week, with Didier Deschamps keen to boost his attacking options.

The 22 year-old’s direct play, cutting inside from the left to fire at goal, has proved immensely beneficial for Real Sociedad, but he did tell Spanish publication AS that he would consider his future at the end of the season.

“I’m doing very well here at La Real,” said Griezmann in January.

“I’m very relaxed about the situation, I want to finish the year here, and then we’ll see.”
