Reports of late in the British press ha suggested that the north Londoners have already made contact with the Belgium international’s agent in order to discuss a possible switch to White Hart Lane next season.

The 20-year-old is currently spending a season-long loan spell with Everton, although the striker is set to return to Stamford Bridge when that comes to an end this summer.

But the Chelsea boss has been at pains to say that the Blues have not had any contact from Spurs regarding  Lukaku.

“Have we had any approaches? No,” Mourinho said. “I don’t think it’s the time to speak about it.

“He’s a Chelsea player, but at the same time he’s an Everton player until the end of the season. We want to respect that. Everton are good club for a loan. Our player is there and our player is playing.

“He is developing and that’s what you expect. With Lukaku and Everton the loan is working well. Working for Everton, for Lukaku and Chelsea.”
