The north Londoners look like finishing the campaign in the top four of the Premier League, and with it gain entry into next season’s Uefa Champions League, while Arsenal could also still win the FA Cup when they take on Hull City in the final at Wembley Stadium later this month in what would be the club’s first trophy since 2005.

However, the experienced trainer does not believe his side needs a lot of new faces added to it when the summer transfer window reopens for business, with Wenger confirming that he will be aiming to sign just one or two new players, with his scouts already bust scouring the market for potential buys.

“At the moment I have people around me who start to look,” said Wenger.

“It will be busy, but the main thing for us will be to keep the stability because we feel we are close.

“We want to add something that makes us even stronger, but number-wise it will not be massive.

“From my experience the World Cup years have always been very quiet until the end of the World Cup, with no players reachable.

“Everybody is focused in the country on their national team and there is not a lot happening, people are away so I believe this year again you will have to wait until July 15 to start going.”
