Schalke have confirmed that they have agreed to sell star player Julian Draxler to Wolfsburg, with the Arsenal target set to replace departing playmaker Kevin De Bruyne.

The former Chelsea man was confirmed as joining Manchester City on Sunday, and Draxler will now be a like-for-like replacement for him in that creative role in the Wolfsburg team.

This will come as some blow for Arsenal, who have long pursued the talented German youngster, though it seems his stock may have fallen after some recent problems with injury and a dip in form.
