Thursday’s biggest Arsenal news and transfer rumour gossip.

Arsene Wenger has laid out his transfer plans for January by insisting that he will be looking for bargains, the Daily Star reports.

On the eve of Black Friday, the Gunners chief has confessed that he will not be afraid to splash the cash if the right deal comes along.

Last January he bought Brazilian defender Gabriel Paulista from Villarreal to cover a defensive injury crisis, but this year he is struggling for numbers in the middle as an injury crisis takes hold of his side.

Wenger has confessed that star forward Alexis Sanchez is carrying a minor hamstring injury, but that isn’t going to stop him from playing him this weekend, the Daily Mirror reports.

Sanchez played all 90 minuted of Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Dinamo Zagreb earlier in the week, but will still be in the squad to take on Norwich at the weekend.

“I will assess that later. It might not be the right time to rest him,” Wenger said.

Paris Saint Germain star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has refused to a rule out a transfer to Arsenal as speculation mounts over his future in France, the Metro reports.

The 34-year-old’s contract expires over the summer, with Arsenal, AC Milan, Manchester United and the MLS all being linked as possible destinations.

But when asked about his future he refused to rule out anything as a possibility.

Wenger has labelled star playmaker Mesut Ozil a bargain, despite the player costing Arsenal £42.5million, according to The Sun.

And with Francis Coquelin ruled out for the next three months, the manager has confirmed that he will be looking for new reinforcements in that area in the new year.

“We are in a position where we want to do something in January. If I find the right quality I will do something,” he said.
