Arsenal go all-out in desperate bid to keep contract rebel, monster £300k-a-week deal offered

Arsenal have reportedly put a contract worth £300,000-a-week on the table in order to persuade talismanic forward Alexis Sanchez to commit his future.

The 28-year-old’s current deal expires in 12 months time, and so far, Arsenal have failed in their attempts to convince him to sign a renewal, leading to concern over his long-term future at the Emirates.

However, according to The Daily Mail, they’re ready to make him the highest-paid player in the Premier League having improved their previous offer of £275,000-a-week including bonuses to £300,000-a-week to meet his demands.

It remains to be seen whether or not this is now enough to convince him to put pen to paper, as it’s noted in the report that both Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring his situation carefully with a view of swooping before the end of the month.

Nevertheless, regardless of whether or not he signs, Arsene Wenger has remained adamant all summer that Sanchez will not leave Arsenal before the start of the new season, as he is seemingly ready to play a risky game of letting his contract run down if he doesn’t sign.

Sanchez will miss the Premier League opener against Leicester City on Friday night, but he’ll be looking to be equally as influential as last season when he bagged 30 goals and 19 assists in 51 appearances in all competitions.

With the addition of Alexandre Lacazette to the side, perhaps Arsenal will be gunning for bigger objectives this year. If they are capable of challenging for major honours, it could help persuade Sanchez, and the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who also have just 12 months remaining on their respective deals, to sign on with the club.
