Man Utd join transfer battle with two PL rivals for bargain £32m shock signing

Man Utd have reportedly joined Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Julian Draxler before the transfer window deadline.

The 23-year-old only joined the French giants in January, and enjoyed a decent six-month spell with them in the second half of last season.

That suggested that he had a bright future in Paris, but as reported by The Mirror, the imminent arrival of £160m signing Kylian Mbappe from rivals Monaco could now force him out much sooner than expected with the capital club needing to make space after also signing Neymar this summer.

Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool are all credited with an interest in the German international, and it’s claimed that he could be allowed to leave for as little as £32m.

That is an absolute steal given his quality and today’s transfer market, and so it’s no surprise that three of the biggest clubs in the Premier League are all keen on adding Draxler to their respective squads.

Time will tell who lands his signature though as all three clubs mentioned are in the market for reinforcements still and would undoubtedly find a place for the former Wolfsburg starlet. Jose Mourinho is looking for a wide attacking talent, Jurgen Klopp could be looking for a Philippe Coutinho replacement while Arsene Wenger had been keen on Thomas Lemar before abandoning that idea, as noted in the report.

In truth, it’s a surprise not to see more clubs from around Europe express an interest, but with just under two weeks to go until the transfer deadline passes, there’s plenty of time for this transfer race to hot up.
