(Photo) Arsenal flop in desperate apology to supporters after shambolic Liverpool loss

Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil has taken to Instagram to share his disappointment after the defeat to Liverpool and to apologise to the supporters.

The Gunners produced an abject display at Anfield and were deservedly punished by a rampant Liverpool side with goals from Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge.

Having been blasted and criticised from all angles after the game including from Sky Sports pundits and their own supporters, Arsenal are already under pressure this season to avoid a crisis and bounce back before their season falls apart.

Ozil has been singled out by critics for his lack of effort and work off the ball, which is made even worse when he isn’t influential with the ball at his feet.

He’s apologised to supporters on Instagram as seen below, but it’s surely not enough as he continues to fail to deliver in the big games and remains a liability defensively for Arsenal.

Arsene Wenger seems too stubborn to drop him, and so unless both he and his teammates can sort themselves out over the international break, Arsenal could be in serious trouble much earlier than many expected.

“Blame us, shout at us, criticize us, but I’m also very disappointed about today’s game ?. We wanted to achieve a positive result before the international break but we were simply not good enough during the 90 minutes and Liverpool deserved the win without a doubt. Usually I’m too angry to post on social media after such frustrating days like today, but I don’t want to let this match go uncommented before traveling to the DFB Team. Nevertheless… Gunners, I’m sorry – especially for the fans who travelled all the way up to Liverpool to see us fighting. But we will try everything to improve in the next game and bounce back from the disappointment we are all feeling at the moment.”
