Contract details of new £15m Tottenham signing, fans will love his first words as Spurs player

Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente completed his £15m move to Spurs late on Thursday night, snubbing reported interest from Chelsea.

The 32-year-old was unveiled just minutes before the transfer deadline passed at 11pm as all the necessary paperwork was filed and he gave his first interview as a Tottenham player shortly after.

As confirmed by the club, Llorente has signed a two-year contract with Tottenham to keep him with Mauricio Pochettino’s squad until 2019, and he’ll be seen as a key addition to the group with his experience and ability to add quality behind Harry Kane.

Spurs struggled with that last season as Vincent Janssen was unable to effectively step in for the England international while he was out injured, but their latest recruit will surely handle the pressure much better having netted 15 Premier League goals for Swansea City last season and is a seasoned international with experience in Europe’s major leagues and the Champions League.

He’s already made himself a popular figure at Tottenham given that he picked them over Chelsea, as reported by The Sun, with Antonio Conte said to have been very keen on a reunion with the Spaniard after their stint working together at Juventus.

Instead, Llorente has chosen the exciting project at Spurs where they continue to build for a bright future, joining Serge Aurier, Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez as a summer signing.

If that wasn’t enough for Spurs fans to be happy about, then his first interview would have undoubtedly brought a smile to their faces as he couldn’t hide his delight over the latest chapter in his career and he welcomed the opportunity to learn more as he dreams to bring success to the club.
