Arsenal injury news: Triple Wenger boost against Everton, but key duo out for three weeks

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has had mixed news on the injury front as he’s confirmed the health of his squad ahead of Sunday’s clash with Everton.

The Gunners secured a hard-fought win over Red Star Belgrade in midweek to maintain their perfect start to the Europa League, with Wenger opting to rotate and rest several key players while others were missing through injury.

With no let up in the fixture list as they take on Everton this weekend before facing Norwich City in the League Cup next week, ahead of the reverse fixture against Red Star and a clash with Manchester City on November 5, Wenger has to be sensible and needs his squad depth over the coming fortnight.

In turn, Arsenal supporters will be delighted to hear him confirm that Alexis Sanchez, Laurent Koscielny and Aaron Ramsey are expected to be fit to feature this weekend, as they all recover from various ailments.

The trio are a crucial part of the spine of the team, and having them back in the fold will be a huge boost for Wenger and Arsenal as they look to navigate through some tough games.

However, as mentioned above, it isn’t all positive as the veteran tactician went on to reveal that Danny Welbeck won’t return before the international break, and it’s highly unlikely that Shkodran Mustafi will either.

That in turn would suggest that the pivotal pair will target the north London derby on November 18 as a possible comeback date when the players return from international duty, and so that looks to be at least three weeks on the sidelines.

Given the difficulty and sheer volume of games coming up, Wenger will be desperate to see all of his injured players return sooner rather than later, and of course he’ll be hoping that no other key individuals join them in the treatment room.
