Despite not generally being thought of as the kind of team to launch crosses into the penalty area, Arsenal’s headed goal today continued an impressive run in the Premier League since the start of last season.

According to data from Opta, Ozil’s header today made it 23 for the club since the beginning of 2016/17 – four more than any other team over the same period.

For all the stick Ozil has got recently after some quiet form, he’s made a decisive impact for the Gunners this afternoon as they currently look set to take a vital three points from Goodison Park.

Arsenal fans will also be delighted to see Arsene Wenger show he can mix things up and get his team scoring from headers, with rival fans so often accusing them of being a side who try to walk the ball into the net.
