Lukaku’s eager to add this dimension to his game.

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku has sent a frightening message to the rest of the Premier League – he plans to keep on getting better every season and become more of an all-rounder.

Speaking to Thierry Henry of Sky Sports, the Belgian revealed his aim to become more of a creator by notching up more assists as well as goals.

Lukaku, 24, has been one of the deadliest finishers in the country down the years, and has started in similarly prolific form for the Red Devils by scoring 11 goals in 16 games since his move from Everton to Old Trafford.

While it can be hard to develop further when already reaching such a high level, Lukaku insists he has no plans to stop improving, and believes he is far from the finished article.

Despite the goals drying up in the last few games, Lukaku managed to set up the winner for Anthony Martial in last weekend’s win over Tottenham, and he has his eye on more assists as he looks to become the perfect centre-forward.

‘I’m just focused on improving year in, year out. That’s the most important thing,’ Lukaku said.

‘Every time I try to add something to my game that wasn’t there.

‘I think a lot of people are judging me as the finished article. I’m 24. You can’t judge me as the finished article. I’d rather have a career where year after year I improve, I improve, I improve then going to the top and decline.

‘I know I have a lot of talent, I know I can do a lot of stuff. I can score goals with my left foot, my right, the head but I want to be a creator, I want to have more assists. I want to make sure when my team is in difficulties that they can count on me.’

Lukaku has three assists for United so far this season, and fans will be delighted to see his attitude towards adding to that and giving all he can in a red shirt.
