Manchester United star advises Arsenal target to snub Gunners transfer

Manchester United goalkeeper may have just offered some advice to ruin Arsenal’s transfer plans for the near future as he weighs in on the Kepa situation.

The Athletic Bilbao shot-stopper has impressed of late and is attracting interest from a host of bigger clubs, with Marca recently listing Arsenal, Juventus and Real Madrid as among his admirers.

De Gea, however, may now have done his bit to stop Kepa moving to Arsenal and strengthening one of United’s major rivals, as he believes the 23-year-old should stay in Spain.

‘All the players like me that leave Spain, we are not followed as much as those that are playing at home and people forget a little bit about us,’ De Gea is quoted in the Metro.

‘Kepa is still very young. He has a long career ahead of him. But his head is in the right place. When you train with him you realise that he has a very high level. He is a great goalkeeper. He needs to continue to compete at this level and grow game after game.’

Diario Gol also recently linked Arsenal with a move for Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas, so it seems replacing the struggling Petr Cech is very much on Arsene Wenger’s agenda at the moment.
