Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba admits he hopes Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette is not fit enough to play when the two sides meet in the Premier League this weekend.
Pogba knows Lacazette well from their time together with the French national team, and has been impressed with how he’s started since joining the Gunners this summer.
According to the Metro, Lacazette looks set to miss Saturday’s match after suffering a groin injury in the win over Huddersfield Town in midweek.
This will pose a selection headache to Arsene Wenger, with Olivier Giroud perhaps in line to start in Lacazette’s place up front, or with Alexis Sanchez possibly set to move into that role.
Whatever choice Wenger makes, Pogba believes it could only benefit United if Lacazette is not involved.

‘Alex has been great and at this moment he is scoring goals and playing well for the team,’ Pogba told MUTV, as quoted by the Metro.
‘He is a big player for them and if he is not there I would say it is good for us. I hope for us that he doesn’t play because that will help us, but I also hope he doesn’t have a bad injury.’
Pogba has been in fine form when fit this season, and earned himself a place in our Arsenal and Manchester United combined XI – but did Lacazette get in?
