Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is getting an absolute slaughtering from Reds fans after an inept first-half display in the Merseyside Derby against Everton.
The England international, a £35million summer signing from Arsenal (fee per BBC Sport), hasn’t had the best time since moving to Anfield, and he’s been selected as a surprise starter for this big game.
Jurgen Klopp may be beginning to regret the decision as the Ox fails to break down a dogged and determined Everton outfit, with the team clearly missing the spark of Philippe Coutinho in that area until Mohamed Salah bailed them out once again with a stunning individual effort.
Liverpool fans have already had enough, and have taken to Twitter to slam their summer signing for a highly ineffective display in almost every area…
The Ox is so shit, he can’t pass, cross, shoot or defend. Literally zero attributes to be a CM.#LIVEVE #MERSEYSIDEDERBY #DerbyDay
