Man City are reportedly eager to get Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus to sign a new long term deal with the club.
This is according to the Telegraph, who state that talks between Guardiola’s side and Jesus’s agent are going well, and that the player is likely to get an increase on his current £70,000-a-week wage, with the player’s new deal set to potentially net him over £100,000-a-week.
This news will be music to the ears to Man City, who would love to see the Brazilian commit his long term future to the club.
Since his arrival in Manchester from Brazilian side Palmeiras in January last season, Jesus has wowed fans with his ability.
In 34 games for the club, the 20-year-old has managed to amass a total of 17 goals and nine assists, a phenomenal return considering the player’s young age.
Jesus ability to use both feet and hold up play has seen some fans describe the forward as one of the best young players in Europe.
The Brazilian’s ability to form a formidable partnership with fellow City teammate Sergio Aguero has helped his side go along way to securing an 11 point lead at the top of the Premier League.
