Pep Guardiola revealed there was 'zero chance' Raheem Sterling was ever leaving Manchester City.
Arsenal wanted Sterling - suspended for the game against Liverpool - as part of a swap deal with Alexis Sanchez, a proposal made with 48 hours of the transfer window left.
Guardiola was consulted about the idea but vetoed a deal, claiming he can further polish the winger.

'It's simple. When we spoke with Arsenal in the last days, they wanted to make a swap with Raz,' Guardiola said.
'They talked to me and I said no chance. Zero chance. Not one per cent chance. He's 22, an English player, a lot to improve.
'We only made an offer with cash, they accepted but couldn't sign their player.'
City were left seething at Arsenal's handling of the situation on deadline day after failing to land Thomas Lemar from Monaco for Ā£92million.

And Guardiola did not rule out making another offer for Sanchez in January.
'I don't know what's going to happen in the winter,' he added. 'We were interested in Alexis and in the end Arsenal decided not to sell him.
'I know him from Barcelona. Sometimes the deals work and sometimes not. We will see in the future.'
