21:30
GOAL! Maribor 0-7 LIVERPOOL

Trent Alexander-Arnold gets in on the act as in the final minute the full-back's 20-yard drive is deflected home. Fortune for the Reds but they are full value for this total thrashing of Maribor.

21:29
From Sportsmail's Dominic King at the Stadion Ljudski vrt
21:27
GOAL! Maribor 0-6 LIVERPOOL

Or maybe not. Daniel Sturridge spots an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain run through the centre and the midfielder collects a pass from the striker before slotting home his first Reds goal.

21:26
Maribor 0-5 Liverpool

Liverpool appear to have taken mercy on their well beaten opponents - just the one goal from the visitors in this half as Alberto Moreno slices a volley well over the bar.

21:24
Manchester City 2-1 Napoli

Manchester City look nowhere near as good as they did in the first half but do force a save from Pepe Reina as Kevin de Bruyne's free-kick from an acute angle is punched clear by the former Liverpool stopper.

21:20
Manchester City 2-1 Napoli

We are into the last 15 minutes across the Champions League. Gabriel Jesus has the ball in the Napoli net but is correctly flagged for offside.

Amadou Diawara of Napoli celebrates after pulling a goal back at Manchester City
21:16
GOAL! Manchester City 2-1 NAPOLI

In a match that should have been all over after 30 minutes, it's now game on at the Etihad Stadium with Amadou Diawara converting a penalty into the bottom corner. Pep Guardiola will be furious if City don't win from here.

21:15
PENALTY (Napoli)

A second penalty for Napoli after Fernandinho's very lazy challenge brings down Faouzi Ghoulam for a spot-kick.

21:10
Manchester City 2-0 Napoli

What a save at the Etihad Stadium... from John Stones! Napoli looked set to pull a goal back as a pass is cut-back for Marek Hamsik, but the striker's low goal bound shot is deflected behind by the sliding City centre-back.

There's a delay in play in Manchester, with David Silva and Elseid Hysaj needing treatment following a clash of heads. Both have the bandages applied.

21:02
Manchester City 2-0 Napoli

Napoli have shown some improvement in this second half and are seeing much more of the ball than they did in the first period at the Etihad Stadium.

City still with that two-goal cushion but not looking as comfortable as they did before the break.

20:58
Maribor 0-5 Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp is starting to think about the weekend's fixtures as Mohamed Salah is withdrawn and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is sent on in his place.

20:54
GOAL! Maribor 0-5 LIVERPOOL

It's just too easy for Liverpool. They continue to batter Maribor at the start of this half and as Philippe Coutinho crosses in a free-kick from the left, Roberto Firmino simply glances home a header across goal.

Here are the half-time Champions League scores

Plenty of goals around Europe but for Tottenham fans it's a game where is currently none that takes their interest.

Spurs will already bite your hand off to take a point at Real Madrid but they will be just as delighted to see Borussia Dortmund being held at APOEL Nicosia.

Meanwhile Manchester City are heading five points clear at the top of their group while Liverpool will go level on five points with Sevilla at the summit of their group.

PENALTY (Real Madrid)
20:27
GOAL! Maribor 0-4 LIVERPOOL

Just when you thought Liverpool had taken their foot off the gas... well they have but still they create chances.

Alberto Moreno collects a pass inside the box on the left before squaring for Mohamed Salah to tap home. In fact his nearest threat was Roberto Firmino as the two nearly got in each other's way trying to convert the low cross. That's how bad Maribor's defending has been.

20:26
Manchester City 2-0 Napoli

Kyle Walker brings down a Napoli striker inside the box but from the spot, Dries Mertens sees his shot saved by Ederson.

A big chance for Napoli to get back into the game - but it's one their poor play did not really deserve. Ederson's save is rather justice served on that front.

20:25
PENALTY (Napoli)
20:24
Manchester City 2-0 Napoli

Napoli are not quite down and out at the Etihad Stadium, but at 2-0 behind they are going absolutely nowhere.

City have yet another chance for a third goal but a shot is cleared off the line by Kalidou Koulibaly.

Manchester City 2-0 Napoli

It's so close to 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium - and it would be thoroughly deserved for the hosts too. Napoli just cannot get a kick.

Anyway, the ball is played into the path of De Bruyne 25 yards out whose first time strike cannons off the underside of the bar, onto the line and then out to safety.

GOAL! Maribor 0-3 LIVERPOOL

Liverpool were favourites to win this game, but this is getting embarrassing for Maribor. After losing the ball far too easily inside their own half, Firmino plays a straight forward through pass for Mohamed Salah who then inside the box slots past the keeper.

Roberto Firmino had opened the scoring for Liverpool
Roberto Firmino taps home for Liverpool to open the scoring at Maribor
20:00
GOAL! MANCHESTER CITY 2-0 Napoli

It's not just mild Saturday afternoons against Stoke where Kevin de Bruyne can turn it on. The midfielder attacks the right flank before playing a quite brilliant low ball into the box for Gabriel Jesus to tap home.

Manchester City are making a Napoli side beating everyone in Italy right now look very, very ordinary.

19:58
GOAL! Maribor 0-2 LIVERPOOL

Liverpool are flying in Maribor, with the hosts getting taken apart. James Milner's squared pass picks out Philippe Coutinho on the edge of the box, whose half-volley - although not that cleanly struck - is enough to beat the keeper and end up in the net.

19:55
GOAL! MANCHESTER CITY 1-0 Napoli

Cracking football from Manchester City. Fernandinho finds Leroy Sane on the left flank whose byline cut-back picks out Kyle Walker.

The full-back's shot is blocked but converting the resulting loose ball is Raheem Sterling.

19:53
From Sportsmail's Dominic King at the Stadion Ljudski vrt

'No chance of the Liverpool players not being able to see it each other this evening as they are in their new third kit which has has imaginatively been branded as 'bold citrus'; no chance of them not being able to hear their fans, either, as the away end has been in full voice, even singing along with U2's Classic With Or Without You.

'They have seen their team make the perfect start with an early goal and, perhaps, this is the night Liverpool will take all the opportunities that come their way.'

19:49
GOAL! Maribor 0-1 LIVERPOOL

What a start for Liverpool! Inside four minutes the visitors pounce on a defensive error as Mohamed Salah charges into the box from the right before squaring for Roberto Firmino to convert the easiest of tap-ins.

ADAM SHERGOLD: Maurizio Sarri's tenure at Napoli didn't exactly get off to the best of starts.

Appointed as the replacement for Rafa Benitez in the summer of 2015, his arrival at the Stadio San Paolo was greeted by the collective shrugging of shoulders.

Season ticket sales slumped to the second-lowest total in Serie A - only little Carpi shifted fewer - and then there was the equivalent of a two-footed lunge from club legend Diego Maradona.

From Sportsmail's Jack Gaughan at the Etihad Stadium

'There were suggestions from the Italian press pack that Sarri could spring a number of changes tonight, particularly given his white flag waving in the press conference.

'But Napoli have thankfully just made the two, even though they’re both in midfield which adds plenty more steel.'
