World heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua joked that he 'should have stuck to football' as he shared footage of himself nailing the crossbar challenge.

Joshua showed off his sweet right foot by launched a booming strike from long range which rebounded off the goal frame.

The 28-year-old was joined at his kickabout by former Real Madrid and Juventus defender Fabio Cannavaro.

Joshua posted a video of his woodwork-bound effort on Instagram, writing: 'Crossbar challenge. I should have stuck to football! Boxing has to many idiots in it...'


He also uploaded a photo of himself posing with Cannavaro, who captained Italy to World Cup glory in 2006.

Joshua captioned the picture with the words: 'Good to have @fabiocannavaoofficial at football this evening'.

After playing football, Joshua took on another sport and shared a video of himself rallying on a tennis court.

Following his retirement from playing in 2011, Cannavaro moved into coaching.

The 44-year-old is currently the manager of Guangzhou Evergrande, after winning China League One with Tianjin Quanjian last year.
