He hasn't been in Chicago long but Bastian Schweinsteiger has already begun house-hunting following his move from Manchester United to the MLS.

Schweinsteiger, who has just signed for Chicago Fire, and his wife Ana Ivanovic, the former tennis star, were joined by their parents on Thursday as the famous sporting duo look to settle in quickly in America.

The German midfielder and Ivanovic were smartly dressed as they looked round the local houses in the gloomy conditions in Chicago.

The 32-year-old brought to an end his 18-month spell at United last week, agreeing a free transfer with Chicago on a one-year deal worth £3.5million.

It has been suggested that the former Bayern Munich and United star could make his debut for the MLS outfit this weekend when they take on Montreal Impact at Toyota Park on Saturday.

And the player himself, who was unveiled to the media on Wednesday following his move to the MLS outfit, believes he still has a lot more to offer following his underwhelming spell at Old Trafford.

They arrived in Chicago this week

Earlier on Thursday, Ivanovic posted these two selfies after arriving in Chicago this week

Asked how much he has left to give, he said: 'A lot. I am 32 years old. I am ready, but of course I need more training sessions to have the right rhythm, to be where I want to see myself.

'My head is more than 100 per cent. I feel quite comfortable. The session was pretty intense today [Wednesday] and I could do it, so that was good.

'I was preparing before I came here and, of course, I need some more days on the training pitch but I feel I am ready whenever the coach needs me.'
