Luke Shaw is heading for the Old Trafford exit this summer after Jose Mourinho claimed that his attitude cannot compare to Manchester United's other left backs, Ashley Young, Matteo Darmian and Daley Blind.
He was called in to see Mourinho ahead of United's training session at Carrington on Monday morning.
Shaw, 21, has played just once for United since the end of January and was not even a substitute against West Brom on Saturday.
'It's difficult for him to be on the bench because I cannot compare him with Ashley Young, with Darmian, with Blind,' said Mourinho.

'I cannot compare the way he trains, the way he way he commits, the focus, the ambition. He is a long way behind.'
Reminded that Shaw is an England player, who appeared against Germany last month, Mourinho replied: 'Joe Hart is an English international and is playing on loan in Italy.'
Shaw joined United for £32million in 2014, but a serious injury and then Mourinho's lack of confidence in him mean the full back has played just 29 Premier League games for the club.
He started all of United's first five Premier League games under Mourinho this season, but has been in the first XI just twice in the league since then.
