The club announced the signing after he had spent a year as a free agent since leaving Roma
Maicon moved to Roma after an ill-fated spell at Manchester City, where he turned out only 13 times in a season blighted by injury and cemented firmly behind Pablo Zabaleta in the pecking order.
The defender made a name for himself during a stellar six-year spell at Inter. The decorated Brazilian won four league titles, two Coppa Italia trophies as well as a Champions League trophy during a stunning treble-winning season in 2010.
Now Avai, who currently sit 18th in the league after three games, will hope the two-time Copa America winner will add some steel and guile to shore up their defence.

But had a poor season at Manchester City in 2012-13, yielding only 13 appearances
