  • Real Madrid beat Juventus 4-1 in Champions League final at Principality Stadium
  • Cristiano Ronaldo, 32, made speech at Bernabeu after returning from Cardiff
  • After he let out his famous 'Si!' roar, fans started singing 'Cristiano, Ballon d'Or'
  • Portuguese icon joined in before he was mobbed by Los Blancos team-mates

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Real Madrid beat Juventus 4-1 in the Champions League final at the Principality Stadium on Saturday night, to further extend his legendary status.

Having returned to the Spanish capital on the night of the final, Ronaldo and his Real colleagues celebrated the club's 12th European Cup at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium with their ecstatic supporters on Sunday.

Ronaldo - sporting his brand new, shorter hairdo - made a speech on the pitch and after letting out his famous 'Si!' roar, the fans started singing 'Cristiano, Ballon d'Or', with the Portuguese icon joining in before being mobbed by his team-mates, who followed suit.

Ronaldo once explained his 'Si!' celebration to Spanish TV station Cuarto: 'The scream? The players know I always do that shout when I score a goal or when we win – it's our team shout, from Real Madrid.'

Marca also pointed out that the 'Si' (Spanish for 'yes') cry was invented by Los Blancos players in 2011, used when they would score, and would be repeated by everyone on the winning team in training games.

Real's Champions League victory almost guarantees Ronaldo a fifth Ballon d'Or title when the award is handed out at the end of the year, which would bring him level with Lionel Messi; over the past nine years the pair have shared the trophy.

The 32-year-old won the Champions League with Manchester United in 2008, before going on to claim two more with Los Blancos, in 2014 and 2016, before Saturday night's triumph in Cardiff.

Ronaldo and his Real amigos made history as no team has retained the trophy in the competition's modern format.

Real, meanwhile, had not won La Liga and the European Cup in the same season since 1958.
