David de Gea takes his mind off Real Madrid interest during Spain training as La Roja gear up for clashes with Colombia and Macedonia

  • Real Madrid are targeting Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea
  • The stopper is currently away on international duty with Spain
  • Spanish squad took part in a training session at their Las Rozas base on Monday

David de Gea was able to put talk of his future to one side as he took part in training alongside his international team-mates on Monday.

Spain's players continued their preparations for two upcoming fixtures and Manchester United goalkeeper De Gea - who is wanted by Real Madrid - was at the heart of the action.

La Roja are gearing up for a friendly clash with Colombia and a World Cup qualifier against Macedonia at their training camp in Las Rozas.

The matches will be a welcome distraction from the transfer rumour mill for De Gea, given the non-stop reports of interest from Real over recent weeks.

Madrid will have to pay United £80million if they want to make De Gea their new No 1 and they could offer Alvaro Morata and Rafael Varane as makeweights in any potential deal.

However, such discussions were miles away as De Gea took part in the practice session in 24-degree heat and under clear skies just outside the Spanish capital on Monday.

Spain go into their games - the first of which comes against Colombia in Murcia on Wednesday - looking to preserve a fine unbeaten run that stretches back to last summer's European Championship.

Julen Lopetegui's side have no lost since a 2-0 defeat by Italy in the last-16 of the competition in France.

In the following 11 months, Spain have beaten Belgium, Liechtenstein, Albania, Macedonia, Israel and France while being held to draws by England and Italy.
