Everton ace Morgan Schneiderlin enjoys delights of exotic Tanzania with bride Camille as lovebirds savour 'incredible' honeymoon

  • Toffees' January signing tied the knot with Strasbourg-born Camille this month
  • Newlyweds jetted out to East African country to sample delights of safari
  • Socially-aware couple enjoyed meeting with locals in traditional Maasai village

They might be the picture-perfect Premier League footballer and WAG pairing, but Everton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin and his new bride Camille are showing the common touch while enjoying their African honeymoon.

The down-to-earth couple - who were married in a civil ceremony on June 8 - first met when the former Manchester United defensive midfielder went shopping for a pair of trainers in the city-centre adidas store two years ago.

While many footballers are jetting out to places such as Dubai during the close season the 27-year-old France international and Camille - a former management and marketing student from Strasbourg - have opted for the more earthy delights of a Tanzanian adventure.

Schneiderlin may earn £120,000 per week at Goodison Park after the Merseyside club shelled out £24million to end his frustrating 18-month spell at Old Trafford, but the pair are proving money isn't everything as they delight in their trip to the unknown.

Curious Camille posted a picture of her yards from a huge African elephant - which can weigh up to 100 stone - on her Instagram account from the east African country, writing: 'First day of our incredible honeymoon'.

The former TV star is no stranger to the celebrity spotlight having been a contestant on reality series KohLanta, France's version of Survivor in 2012 - and she is relishing encounters with the famed Maasai people.

'Meeting local people and children in a Maasai village - [the] kind of holidays [that] bring you back to earth,' Camille wrote in another post on the picture-sharing social media platform.

The former Southampton man - who made 230 league appearances for the Saints before Manchester United forked out £25m to capture him - whisked Camille to the glitzy French Riviera and got down on one knee to propose last year.

However, the pair are proving they have no airs or graces on their African safari with Camille sharing a snap of their temporary residence to her ever-growing legion of fans.

'What a hotel in the middle of the jungle, what a warm welcome - Karibu in Tanzania,' she wrote on Instagram.

Schneiderlin will be an expert on the East African country this summer as Everton are set to visit Tanzania to play a pre-season friendly as part of the club’s preparations for the 2017-18 season.

The match, which has been organised to mark the club’s new partnership with gaming giant SportPesa, will see the Toffees play at the 60,000-capacity Tanzania National Main Stadium in Dar-es-Salaam on Thursday 13 July, with kick-off time to be confirmed.

Everton will become the first Premier League side to play in the east African country - with Schneiderlin no doubt able to give tips on the exotic location to his team-mates after his magical honeymoon with Camille.
