Upon his return Morata will have some big career decisions to make, with United keen to relieve Spanish champions Real Madrid of his services.

Morata returned to his boyhood club following a spell in Serie A with Juventus, though could see his position at the Bernabeu come under serious threat should Madrid follow through on their interest in Monaco's wonderkid Kylian Mbappe.

United are determined to make the Spaniard the new focal point of their attack, bringing him in to replace the recently-departed Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Ibrahimovic, who provided 28 goals in all competitions last season, was released by the Old Trafford club after a new deal could not be agreed.
