Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is a wanted man.

Leicester City, West Brom, Huddersfield Town, Aston Villa and Middlesbrough have all stepped up their interest in the 24-year-old.

Johnstone, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Villa, is ready to continue playing first-team football off the back of his performances last season.

Villa manager Steve Bruce has been keen to re-sign him on loan with Huddersfield Town and Boro preferring a permanent deal to make Johnstone their No 1.

David Wagner wants a new keeper as Liverpool want to keep Danny Ward as their third choice while Garry Monk is willing to offer in excess of £3million to secure Johnstone as his new first choice and help lead Boro's push for promotion.

Leeds United had also expressed interest prior to signing German Felix Wiedwald from Werder Bremen for £500,000.

Johnstone's representatives at James Grant Sports said: 'Sam has a number of options and is considering them all at this moment in time.'

United are still wary of Real Madrid interest in David de Gea while Sporting Lisbon, Benfica and Porto are all believed to have asked about Joel Pereira.

Tottenham are not pursuing Monaco midfielder Thomas Lemar.

Arsenal have been rebuffed in a £31million bid for the France international and their north London neighbours have been credited with lining up a rival bid. However, manager Mauricio Pochettino has other targets in mind rather than the 21-year-old Lemar.

Monaco are battling to keep some of their squad intact. Tiemoue Bakayoko should join Chelsea this week for £35.2m while Manchester City are working on the £38million signing of Benjamin Mendy. Paris Saint-Germain are leading the chase for Fabinho while Real Madrid are in pole position for Kylian Mbappe should he go.

Everton expect the paperwork for Malaga striker Sandro Ramirez to be cleared by July 3.

The Spain U21 international has passed his medical and agreed terms on his £5.2million transfer but Malaga's president wanted to abide by the letter of his contract which runs until Monday.

Real Madrid were touted as late bidders for Sandro but never followed up their interest, as confirmed by president Florentino Perez.

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright has been working hard to ensure they finalise the signing of Burnley defender Michael Keane for £25m. Manchester United, the 22-year-old defender's former club, will receive 25 per cent of the fee as their sell-on agreement. Keane is due back from holiday this week and is expected to sign for Everton next week.

Everton will also make an improved offer for Swansea midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Swansea maintain no bid has been received but Sportsmail understands an offer has gone in though is still short of Swansea's valuation. Leicester remain in the hunt for the highly-rated Iceland international as they await bids from Arsenal for Riyad Mahrez though Everton are favourites.

Everton's new signing Henry Onyekuru is in Nigeria and is expected to link up with new loan club Anderlecht at the weekend. Everton beat off competition for the 20-year-old after using a different agent to the one that had been talking to West Ham.

Swansea City have signed Dutch goalkeeper Erwin Mulder.

The 28-year-old from Heerenveen had a clause in his contract that allows him to leave on a free transfer.

Mulder formerly played for Feyenoord where he made more than 120 appearances before losing his place to Kenneth Vermeer.

Mulder flew from Schiphol airport to Cardiff on Thursday morning ahead of signing and will provide competition for Lukasz Fabianski.

Liverpool retain an interest in Hull City left back Andrew Robertson should they sell Alberto Moreno.

The Scotland international has been discussed by Newcastle , Burnley and West Ham this summer with Hull looking for at least £8million.

Robertson had been linked with Watford too but Robertson's former coach Marco Silva is looking at other options.

Liverpool are also looking to offload Lazar Markovic for around £12million and though Watford have been contacted they have yet to follow up with any offer for the 23-year-old Serbia winger who cost £20m

Jurgen Klopp has an interest in Arsenal's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain but could not necessarily guarantee the 23-year-old a starting place and Arsenal would want around £25million.
