Marcus Rashford's summer break in Portland took an unexpected turn when the Manchester United starlet scored a chance meeting with NFL star Odell Beckham Jnr.

Rashford has been based near Nike's World Campus in Portland, where he has been training ahead of the new season and spending time with the local MLS side, Portland Timbers.

Nike, who sponsor Rashford, were hosting a workout for talented high-school American football players called the Opening and invited the United striker along.

Also attending the event was New York Giants star receiver Beckham, a big football fan, who was keen to hang out with Rashford.

Nike recently gave Beckham the biggest individual sponsorship deal ever for an NFL player, a contract worth £22million over five years, and were getting their monies' worth at the event in Portland.

Beckham and Rashford tossed around a football and exchanged jerseys, with the United man handing over a signed England (Nike) kit as opposed to his club strip, which is made by the US sportswear company's rivals adidas.

Rashford's time in Oregon has also seen him pay a visit to local MLS side, Portland Timbers

It's not all been fun and games, Rashford has also been preparing for the start of pre-season

The 19-year-old's US trip has included more than meeting with a famous sportstar. Rashford also bumped into and posed for a picture with Brazil and Barcelona legend Ronaldinho.

The pair were both at the Nike Campus enjoying some downtime, with Ronaldinho describing Rashford as a 'humble, good person' in his Instagram post.

The meeting came days after fellow United youngster Jesse Lingard met Ronaldinho in Miami, the starting place of Rashford's US break.

However it has not all been fun and games. Rashford has not neglected the need to stay in shape whilst enjoying sun, undergoing a personal training regime on the beach in Portland.
