Phil Neville caused a frenzy on social media on Friday after sharing an image of what appeared to be Romelu Lukaku in a Manchester United shirt.
The Red Devils have agreed a £75m deal with Everton for the striker and Neville's post suggested the move had been completed and Lukaku was ready to be unveiled.
The former utility man, who played for both clubs and captained Everton, shared the picture on Instagram and said: 'Left one great club and joined another @rlukaku9 congratulations'.

After much conjecture from fans, the former Everton captain admitted post was a 'bit of fun'
After much conjecture on the post, with some claiming the image had surely been photoshopped, Neville wrote: 'Haahhahahahaahhahahahahahahaha a bit of fun guys relax'.
Former Toffees team-mate Tim Cahill simply wrote: 'bore off' in response to the jokey post.

On Friday, the duo began work on their potential partnership as they worked out in sunny LA.
The prospective team-mates are on holiday in Los Angeles together and have been training as a pair at UCLA in preparation for the new season's start next month.
Everton striker Lukaku will have a medical in LA – and it is understood that Pogba has been influential in the 24-year-old turning his back on a return to Chelsea.
