The summer transfer window is in full swing as Premier League clubs bid to ready their squads for the challenges of another season in the top flight.

Manchester United have confirmed they have reached an agreement with Everton over a deal for Romelu Lukaku despite Chelsea's late interest.

Nainggolan staying at Roma: Monchi

Reported Manchester United target Radja Nainggolan is staying with Roma, according to the Italian club's new sporting director Monchi.

Nainggolan has been heavily linked with United as well as various other clubs, including Chelsea and Inter Milan, but the chances of the 29-year-old Belgium international leaving Roma this summer now look to be over.

Monchi told the club website: 'Yes he will stay. I think we've seen the last of the big departures from our club.'

West Ham have also discussed Leicester City striker Islam Slimani (pictured), who is open to offers this summer, and have signed 16-year-old Ajax left-back Anouar El Mhassani on a three-year deal. El Mhassani was allowed to leave by the Dutch club after an injury hindered his progress last season.

Pereira extends United stay

Goalkeeper Joel Pereira has signed a new deal to keep him at Manchester United until the summer of 2021, with the option of a further year.

The 21-year-old, who made his first-team debut in January, is highly rated at Old Trafford having impressed since joining the club in 2012.

'I have been at United for a number of years now and since the first day here I have enjoyed every minute,. he told the club website.

Burnley enquire about Sunderland's Kone

Burnley have made an enquiry about Sunderland centre-back Lamine Kone.

The 28-year-old Ivory Coast international is available as he wants to play in the top flight and manager Simon Grayson will sell to help boost his transfer funds.

Kone had interest from Everton, Crystal Palace, West Ham and West Bromwich Albion last year before signing a new contract worth around £60,000 a week.

West Ham keen on N'Diaye

SIMON JONES: West Ham United have revived their interest in Senegal midfielder Badou N'Diaye.

The London Stadium side have been following the 26-year-old for the past season and sounded out his Turkish club Osmalispor about a deal at the end of the season.

Osmanlispor want £8.5million for N'Diaye who has scored 16 goals from midfield over the past two seasons. Crystal Palace and Sunderland have also watched him in recent months.

West Ham have also asked about Stoke City forward Marko Arnautovic.

Sigurdsson in, Barry out?

Goodison Park has been transfer central so far this summer - and according to SIMON JONES it's only going to get busier.

Wayne Rooney is joining Everton from Manchester United and they are also intent on bringing in Gylfi Sigurdsson (pictured) from Swansea.

Veteran midfielder Gareth Barry is attracting interest from West Bromwich Albion and Burnley.

Everton to start Giroud bidding war

SIMON JONES: Everton are ready to open the bidding for Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud this week.

Romelu Lukaku will finalise his potential £90million move to Manchester United and Everton would ideally like Giroud as a replacement.

The France international, who turns 31 in September, has interest from Marseille, Lyon and West Ham but Everton are hopeful, if they can strike a deal at the right price with Arsenal, that they can convince Giroud to join their ambitious project.

Giroud has expressed a desire to fight for his place and has three years left on contract after agreeing an extension earlier this year.

2.1MILLION people urge Diego Costa to join Besiktas

He may have been given the cold shoulder by his manager, but Diego Costa is most certainly a wanted man after 2.1million followers responded to a post from the Chelsea striker on Instagram - almost entirely calling for him to join Besiktas.

The 28-year-old posted a picture of him giving the thumbs up with friend and Sao Paulo midfielder Petros Araujo at the Krug Ambassade restaurant on Wednesday, and fans of the 15-time Turkish champions are still flooding him with messages.

The rather innocuous post of the player with a friend outside a restaurant has led to over 185,000 likes and a record number of comments - almost all of which have called for the Brazil-born striker to make the move to Turkey.

Wayne Rooney at Finch Farm for a medical

Wayne Rooney has arrived at Everton's training ground for a medical ahead of his proposed free transfer from Manchester United.

Rooney was pictured turning up at Finch Farm in his Land Rover on Saturday afternoon as he prepares to seal a move back to Merseyside.

The 31-year-old is set to complete an emotional return to Goodison Park, 13 years after leaving for United in a £26.5million deal.

Lille sign Kevin Malcuit from St Etienne

Lille have announced the signing of St Etienne full back Kevin Malcuit. 

Malcuit, who can also player on the wing, has signed a five-year deal with the Ligue 1 oufit.

The 25-year-old previously played for Monaco before dropping down to lower league clubs Frejus Saint-Raphael and Chamois Niortais. He signed for St Etienne in 2015.

Ceballos 'agrees six-year deal with Real Madrid'

Dani Ceballos has agreed a six-year contract with Real Madrid and will undergo a medical with the Spanish giants on Monday, according to AS

Real Betis midfielder Ceballos, who was named player of the tournament at the European Under 21 Championships, is reportedly on his way to the Bernabeu for a fee of £13million. 

Ceballos is set to earn £2.6million from a signing-on fee after he responded to a 24-hour ultimatum delivered to him by the Champions League and La Liga champions.

Celta Vigo refuse to rule out move for Nolito

Celta Vigo are still in the market for Manchester City winger Nolito, the club's sporting director has confirmed. 

Nolito left Celta last summer for City but has failed to settle in Manchester and is keen on a return to his homeland. 

And Celta's sporting director confirmed his side are not giving up hope of landing the 30-year-old Spain international despite the club's financial restraints.

Felipe Minambres told AS: 'While [he] is in the market, we are there. In the numerical aspect it is not feasible, but in the affective [sense] yes it is.

'Sometimes one does not end up coinciding with the other. We see ourselves with options because other teams can have their advantages and we can have others.'

Arsenal youngster Hinds joins Wolfsburg

Kaylen Hinds has left Arsenal to join Wolfsburg on a three-year deal, the Bundesliga side have confirmed on their Twitter account. 

The 19-year-old failed to make an senior appearance for the Gunners and spent a portion of last season on loan with Stevenage. 

He follows fellow Arsenal youngster Chris Willock, who joined Benfica, in leaving north London to move to a European side.

Leicester enquire about James McCarthy

SIMON JONES: Leicester have made an enquiry for Everton midfielder James McCarthy.

The 26-year-old is likely to leave Goodison Park this summer but Everton value him at £25million.

The Republic of Ireland international missed a chunk of the last campaign with a niggly hamstring injury after failing to give it proper rest but is fit again after taking time to recover fully and missing Ireland's end of season internationals.

Everton's asking price for McCarthy has deterred some bidders so far as other suitors such as Newcastle United, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace weigh up what their priorities are.

Tottenham unwilling to sell Dier at any price

SIMON JONES: Tottenham have underlined that Eric Dier is not for sale at any price.

Manchester United have a long-held interest in the England international and sounded out Tottenham over a potential deal earlier this year.

However, they received a firm rebuke from Tottenham and no further talks are understood to have taken place since the end of the season.

Sam Johnstone set for another Aston Villa loan

SIMON JONES: Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is poised to join Aston Villa on Monday.

The 24-year-old has been a target for a number of Championship and Premier League sides but will sign for Villa on a season-long loan.

Johnstone, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Villa Park, has been back in training at United's Carrington complex and will not be part of the tour party that travels to the USA on Sunday.

Tyias Browning joins Sunderland on loan

Everton defender Tyias Browning has moved to Sunderland on a season-long loan. 

Browning joins fellow Toffee Brendan Galloway, who will also spent next season on loan with the Black Cats.

The 23-year-old, who spent the second half of last campaign with Preston, told his new club's official website that the opportunity to join Sunderland was one he was never going to turn down.

Marseille offer £1.3million for Mandanda

Marseille have made a £1.3million bid for Crystal Palace goalkeeper Steve Mandanda as they attempt to resign their former No 1, according to French outlet L'Equipe.

L'Equipe report that Mandanda, who was sidelined with a knee injury for large portions of last season, is keen on a return to his former club after just one year in south London.

France international Mandanda spent eight seasons with Marseille before moving to Selhurst Park on a free transfer last summer.

Chesterfield sign Jak McCourt

Chesterfield have confirmed the signing of Jak McCourt on a free transfer after he left Northampton Town at the end of last season. 

The midfielder joins Chesterfield, who were relegated from League One last season, on a two-year deal. 

Ex-Leicester man McCourt tweeted that he was delighted with the transfer and couldn't wait to get started with the Spireties.

Burnley interested in signing James McArthur

SIMON JONES: Burnley want to sign Crystal Palace midfielder James McArthur.

The 29-year-old Scotland international could become surplus to requirements under Frank de Boer as the Palace manager looks to change his midfield options.

But Burnley boss Sean Dyche is a big admirer and wants McArthur to bolster his side, wary that he could lose unsettled Belgium international Steven Defour also this summer.

They could face competition for the Scotland international however as Aston Villa have also made enquiries despite manager Steve Bruce also working on a deal to sign Stoke's Republic of Ireland international Glenn Whelan.

Everton sign QPR youngster Josh Bowler

Everton have announced the signing of teenage winger Josh Bowler from QPR on a three-year contract.

Bowler, 18, who made his first-team debut for Rangers on the final day last season, will join David Unsworth's Under 23 squad at Goodison Park.

He had only signed his first professional contract at QPR in March after progressing through the club's academy - his only senior appearance so far has been as a substitute in the Championship side's defeat to Norwich on the final day of last season.

Burnley complete Walters signing

Burnley have completed the signing of Republic of Ireland striker Jonathan Walters from Stoke for an undisclosed fee.

Walters, 33, has put pen to paper on a two-year deal to end his seven-year spell at Stoke after Potters boss Mark Hughes allowed the striker to leave.

His arrival at Turf Moor follows that of defender Charlie Taylor, who joined the Clarets from Leeds on Thursday.

Marco Verratti sorry for his agent's comments

Marco Verratti has apologised for comments made by his agent Donato di Campli, who stated that the midfielder was being held as 'prisoner' by Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Talking to PSG’s official website, Verratti said: 'We've gone through some tough times over the last few days. I saw what my agent said and just want to say that they are not my words at all. And I want to apologise to everyone at the club, the president, the fans and the players. 

'I am very happy here, we got back to training now, I am thrilled to be back here and start working again. I know the club trusts me and I really want to apologise once again.

PSG will move for Liverpool forward Philippe Coutinho if they miss out on signing Kylian Mbappe, according to reports in France.

According to the front page of L'Equipe, the Brazilian is PSG's main back-up plan should they fail to sign the Monaco prodigy.

Chelsea have dramatically returned to the race to sign Everton's striker Romelu Lukaku by agreeing to match Manchester United's offer.

Antonio Conte is refusing to give up on his No 1 summer target and Chelsea have also agreed to match the personal terms being offered to the Belgium international at Old Trafford but United, who will pay at least £75million to clinch the deal, remain in the driving seat.

Chelsea will not pay what is thought to be an eight-figure fee, believed to be £12m, to Lukaku's agent Mino Raiola, which is a key part of the United package.

Arsenal have returned with a £40million bid for Monaco star Thomas Lemar after seeing their initial £30m approach rejected.

Monaco have previously stated their refusal to sell the talented 21-year-old midfielder at any price this summer but the Gunners are testing that resolve.

JACK GAUGHAN: Wayne Rooney will take a huge cut in wages to rejoin Everton, with Manchester United forking out millions to pay up the final year of his contract.

Sportsmail understands Rooney has agreed to a salary reduction of around 50 per cent to facilitate a return to the club he supported as a boy.

The 31-year-old earns upwards of £300,000 a week at Old Trafford after sponsorship add-ons. His wages back on Merseyside will be nearer £150,000.

Wolves have broken their transfer record for the third time in a year after sealing a £15.8million deal for Porto starlet Ruben Neves.

The 20-year-old Portugal international had been scouted by Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool but Wolves swooped to bring him to Molineux.

Neves' agent is Jorge Mendes, who remains an adviser to Wolves' ambitious owners.
