As replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic as Manchester United's No 9, it has been argued that Romelu Lukaku has big shoes to fill.

However the £75million man has some pretty sizable boots of his own, as was proven on Twitter on Monday.

Lukaku's new team mate Juan Mata tried on the striker's giant football boots, and was gobsmacked by the result.

He showed them off on social media, commenting: 'Welcome Romelu Lukaku aka biggest boots EVER', as he showed how his feet were swamped by the shoes.

Lukaku has size 13.5 feet, and it was clear Mata's appendages are much smaller, as it looked as if he was wearing clown shoes.

The new signing himself reacted to the picture, replying with both a laughing-crying emoji and a sad face.

Lukaku's big money move to United from Everton was confirmed on Monday and he joined up with his team mates to train for the first time.

His £75million switch came about as United swooped in ahead of his former club Chelsea for his services.
