Manchester United target Ivan Perisic has touched down in China with his Inter Milan team-mates ahead of the club's summer pre-season tour.

United were confident of sealing a £44million deal for the Croatian winger, with Perisic desperate to move to Old Trafford during the current transfer window.

However, the move now appears to be hanging in the balance with Perisic pictured arriving in China with the rest of his Inter team-mates after being named in Luciano Spalletti's squad.

Manager Luciano Spalletti named Perisic in his squad for the pre-season tour to China

The 28-year-old international was snapped getting off the plane at Nanjing International Airport with his headphones on before signing autographs for Inter fans.

Jose Mourinho was keen on wrapping up a deal quickly so that Perisic did not have to travel and United were increasingly hopeful of finalising terms.

Perisic had also implied he was hoping his move to Old Trafford would be completed before the flight by taking to social media to post a symbol of a plane accompanied by a prayer emoji.

Inter fans were pictured waiting with much anticipation for their idols at the airport

But instead, Perisic is now preparing with the Serie A outfit for their upcoming game with Bundesliga side Schalke on Friday.

The winger and his team-mates then face Lyon in Nanjing on July 24 before flying to Singapore to take on Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

Mourinho is desperate to bolster his ranks ahead of the new season as they prepare for their return to the Champions League, but for now Perisic's potential move appears to be up in the air.
